Gratitude, Thankfulness, Gratefulness, & Appreciation

This November, I thought it would be a perfect time to give thanks and encourage everyone else to do the same!

We are firm believers that what you put it out into the universe is what you will receive back! One of our favorite books is, The Secret by Rhonda Byrnes. If you haven’t read it, you really should.  It is a great reference to remind us of what is important and to stay positive.

In the busy world we live in today, it is so easy to forget to give gratitude.  To be grateful for what we have. To appreciate our loved ones.  To show humility.  To express Thanks.

With Thanksgiving coming,  I thought we would do a segment of posts for 30 Days of Gratitude!!  Please join us in the next month in thinking positively and expressing gratitude.  Try it with us and see if you feel better in general after a month of living more positively!

Day 10:

We seldom take notice of the the good actions of our friends and family. We never seem to notice their good intentions , Today I will take notice and look for the positive loving  actions and intentions of the ones close to me.

Challenge 10:

As you spend time with friends and family today, take notice in goodness and positive attributes. Send loving thankful thoughts their way.

I was babysitting my friend’s tween daughter tonight & she was feeling pretty down on herself as girls her age often are. I brought to her attention the many wonderful attributes she has that she didn’t seem to realize were even evident to other people. I don’t know how much of an impact I made, but she seemed a little happier for the moment, at least.

The waiter at a new restaurant. As soon as we walked in the door, he gave our daughter $.50 to play an arcade game. Later, he brought her a stuffed animal bear! We’ve never had anything like that happen before. Granted we don’t eat out a ton, but still….I definitely noticed!

I took notice of my 14 year old son. So many times he will say, “Mom, can you play the Wii with me?” More often than not, I say, “Maybe some other time, I’ve got stuff to get done.” Tonight I realized I was going to give my standard response/excuse, so I decided to say, “Yeah, that sounds like fun!” We played boxing until he wore me out. (Didn’t take long.) The look on his face when I agreed to play with him was priceless.

I took notice of my husband today. Even though he is so tired from work and the business trip he just got back from, he still took time out today to genuinely play with our kids and spent a good chunk of quality time with them! I am so thankful to have a loving husband!

My wife she just got out of the hospital and I alway’s knew how important she was but but not having her around the house did not seem or feel like a home. I love her completely.
